Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran was a speaker, investor, and businesswoman from the United States. In 2001, she launched The Corcoran Group in New York City. She sold the company to NRT for $66 million. In the following months she left the company. Corcoran has participated in 12 episodes of ABC's Shark Tank seasons. Corcoran has been involved in 53 deals as of February 2020. The largest was a $350,000 purchase to cover 40% of Coverplay. Corcoran was born in Edgewater, New Jersey, the second of 10 children in a working class Irish-Catholic family. Florence Corcoran was Florence's mom and was a homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was her father. He was a mover between jobs and another throughout Corcoran’s childhood. Her family often depended on food delivery services for free from a local grocer. Corcoran remembers her fatheras who was a drunk at times too much and treated her mother with disrespect and condescendingly, particularly after he'd consumed some drinks. Corcoran was a troubled student in school. She later discovered that she was dyslexic. Corcoran began high school at St. Cecilia High School Englewood following her time at a Catholic elementary school. Corcoran dropped several classes during her first year and transferred to Leonia High School where she was an A student.
