Baylor was an institution where I made many friends who have changed my life. Dr. Karen Pope in the Art History department. I was fortunate to be able to take several classes I took with Dr. Pope. She also took me to Chicago and Paris to study about art. She made studying art great fun, and a week does not go by without me recollecting her sayingthat "Art history is a massive puzzle and as art historians, we keep looking for pieces to connect." My father worked in the automotive business, and I had to work at the dealership all summer. I was employed one summer as a mechanic's assistant, changing brake pads and oil.
