Jennifer Rene Psaki
Jennifer Rene Psaki was an American political adviser who was the 34th White House press Secretary between 2021 until 2022. A member of the Democratic Party she has previously worked in the Obama administration as White House deputy press secretary (2009), White House assistant director of communications (2009–2011) and the spokesperson for the Department of State(2013-2015) and White House communication director (2015–2017). Psaki was a contributor to political campaigns for CNN from 2017 until 2020. Her career in politics began in 2001 when she began working on behalf of the reelection campaigns for Tom Harkin, an Iowa Democrats running for the U.S. Senate. Psaki was then appointed deputy press secretary for John Kerry's 2004 presidential campaign. Psaki was also the communications director for Joseph Crowley (U.S.) and was the regional press secretary for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. Psaki returned in 2012 for political communications, serving as press secretary for President Obama's 2012 election campaign. 20 years ago, Psaki was appointed spokesperson for the United States Department of State in February 2013. [20] Her hiring at the Department of State fueled speculation that she would succeed White House Press Secretary Jay Carney as he left for the White House. However, on May 30th, 2014 it was announced that Josh Earnest would replace Carney. In the year 2015, she returned to the White House as communications director and was there until the end of the Obama administration.
